Copenhagen Airport Reopens Following Drone Sightings

Copenhagen Airport has announced the resumption of operations following a temporary closure due to the sighting of two to three large drones in the vicinity. Flight activity was suspended for approximately four hours starting around 20:30 local time (19:30 BST). During this period, no aircraft were allowed to take off or land, leading to the diversion of at least 35 flights to other airports.

Authorities issued a warning about ongoing delays and cancellations, advising passengers to check their flight status with airlines. A spokesperson for the airport confirmed the closure of airspace and noted that police are investigating the situation but could not provide a timeline for when normal operations would resume.

In a related incident, Norwegian police reported the observation of a drone near Oslo Airport on the same evening, prompting safety measures that limited air traffic to a single runway.

Airport officials and law enforcement are actively working to determine the source of the drones and ensure the safety of air travel in the region.
