Australia Live Updates: AFL Grand Final May Fuel Queensland Measles Outbreak; Albanese En Route to UK Talks

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is set to arrive in London on Friday (AEST) as part of a three-country diplomatic visit. His discussions with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer are expected to focus on the Aukus submarine agreement and strategies regarding former President Donald Trump. The UK recently commissioned a submarine for the Royal Navy ahead of schedule, raising concerns for Australia as it plans to deploy a submarine from Perth starting in 2027.

Following his meeting with Starmer, Albanese will also meet King Charles III at Balmoral Castle, where the monarch has emphasized the importance of the Aukus pact. His tour will conclude in the United Arab Emirates, where he will discuss a free trade agreement with President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
