Sean Dickson: Somerset batter to join Glamorgan

Glamorgan director of cricket Mark Wallace said: “Sean is one of the most explosive middle-order T20 batters in the country and is a proven top-four option in four-day cricket.

“With Sam Northeast heading back to Kent, Sean will add to the experience of our batting unit and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to Wales.”

Dickson has scored 5,464 first-class runs at an average of 31.95 with a top score of 318 for Kent, but has been more prominent in T20 cricket while at Somerset.

Dickson top-scored in both the semi-final and final as Somerset emerged triumphant in the T20 Blast in 2023, while he again helped them reach the final last year.

He top-scored for Durham in the 2021 One Day Cup final against Glamorgan hitting 84, and made 44 for Somerset against Glamorgan in the 2024 final.

News of Dickson’s move to Wales comes shortly after his brilliant innings of 71 from 26 balls saw Somerset beat Bears to claim a place at T20 Finals Day for the fifth year in a row.
